A Love Story Across the Miles
Every now and then, a love story emerges that captivates the heart and refuses to let go. James and Jayne’s unique journey, a poignant testament to the resilience of love and the enchantment of reuniting after a prolonged separation, is one such tale. Their story, which began at a Boulder coffee shop and endured a global pandemic, is a testament to the power of love. We were privileged to document their extraordinary day and share moments with their warm and lively circle of family and friends.
James and Jayne’s story began on September 25, 2019, at Boulder Ozo’s Coffee Shop. Their connection was instant, and they soon became inseparable. However, in January 2020, James bid Jayne farewell at the airport as she embarked on a journey home to celebrate Chinese New Year with her family. Little did they know, the world was about to change in ways they could never have imagined. The onset of COVID-19 led to lockdowns, leaving Jayne stranded overseas, unable to return to the U.S. Yet, their love endured, and they found ways to stay connected despite the distance, a true testament to the strength of their bond.

But distance only made their hearts grow fonder. Texts, calls, and Zoom dates became their lifeline. They watched movies together and virtually celebrated Valentine’s Day, birthdays, and anniversaries. By the end of April 2020, James popped the question on WeChat, and Jayne said YES! Thus began the long and winding road of applying for a fiancé visa.
Fast forward to July 2022, Jayne got the news she’d been waiting for—her visa interview was set. By December 2022, she was back in the U.S., almost three years after she left. They reconnected and knew marriage was their destiny. Following K1 visa requirements, they tied the knot on February 23, 2023.
Celebrating James & Jayne
Their wedding day at The Dove House at Lionsgate was a scene straight out of a fairytale. The venue’s picturesque backyard, with its charming nooks and crannies, provided the perfect backdrop for capturing stunning photos and the romantic ambiance that permeated every aspect of their day. We took full advantage of the enchanting setting, creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. Even when an evening thunderstorm threatened, we seized the opportunity to capture some breathtaking ‘sunset’ shots against the backdrop of dramatic clouds.
Jayne’s dress and veil were the epitome of elegance and romance, adorned with exquisite bead and lace work. Her wedding jewelry – ring, earrings, and necklace—held deep sentimental value, as they were the same pieces James’s mom wore at her wedding. It was a beautiful way to connect the past with the present.
The weather during their day and ceremony was picture-perfect—a gentle breeze, a sky dotted with fluffy clouds, and the ideal temperature. Family and friends came from near and far to celebrate this beautiful day. Jayne and James’s vows were heartfelt and genuine. The love they share emanates from their every word and is evident in the adoring glances they exchange. Their affectionate gazes and words beautifully express their deep connection with each other. While Jayne’s parents were unfortunately unable to attend in person, her family at the wedding made sure to have her Mom and Dad there virtually. Technology can indeed be fantastic to help us stay connected even across oceans.
They added a sweet touch by gifting their guests adorable bottles of Colorado honey—liquid gold indeed. James and Jayne opted for a plated sit-down dinner, which added to the romance and elegance of the day. The food was beautifully plated and tasted phenomenal. The presentation was impeccable, with each dish looking like a work of art. The flavors were exquisite, perfectly balanced, and tantalizing to the taste buds. It was indeed a culinary experience to remember. The reception was a joyful celebration with plenty of mingling and laughter. When it was time to get the party started, Jayne changed into a stunning party dress—colorful, sparkly, and glamorous. The DJ’s engaging music kept the energy high throughout the evening, with a mix of upbeat tunes that had everyone dancing and enjoying the celebration to the fullest.
Jayne and James’s wedding day was a perfect blend of love, laughter, and the joyful reunion of two hearts that had been apart for far too long. Their story is a beautiful reminder that love knows no bounds and that the best things in life are worth waiting for. Wow, what an incredible day celebrating with Jayne and James! The beautiful ceremony, the heartfelt toasts, and the joy in the air made it a day to remember. Being a part of such a special celebration was an absolute delight, and We cherished every moment. Capturing their love story was a true honor, and We are so excited to be able to preserve those precious memories for them. Here’s to the newlyweds and the incredible journey they have ahead.
