Ohhhh — do I have an engagement session to gush 🥹✨ We had the most gorgeous Colorado evening in downtown Denver at one of my absolute favorite spots for chic, elegant engagement photos — the Byron White Courthouse.

Those grand white marble columns, the timeless architecture, the sweeping stairs — it’s like the building whispers romance and drama in the best way. And when you pair that stunning backdrop with a couple like Brenden and Acacia, it’s chef’s kiss perfection.

Let me just say, these two are the real deal. So sweet, so easy to be around, and their story? Literally straight out of a rom-com. I could photograph them all day, and now I get to do just that at their wedding July 2025 at Lionsgate Event Center — one of our fave venues! It’s going to be a dream day.

High School Sweethearts to Forever Partners

Brenden and Acacia’s love story goes way back — like, freshman-year-of-high-school back. They met as teenagers and spent an entire summer as best friends before Brenden asked Acacia to be his girlfriend. Since 2015, they’ve been inseparable. Like… ride-or-die, support-you-through-anything, grow-up-together kind of love. ❤️

They have memories for days — parents dropping them off for their first date (adorable), cheering each other on at games, sneaking off-campus for lunch, late-night phone calls, and hours of homework. (You know how it goes.)

After graduating and literally walking across the stage together, they dove headfirst into adulthood — side by side. Within 8 months, they had moved into their first apartment together (cue the adulting soundtrack) and started building a life rooted in love, trust, and mutual “we’ve got this” energy.

Since then?

• Apartment #2 ✅
• Golden Retriever named Kevin ✅
• Countless concerts ✅
• New home together ✅
• And of course, a magical proposal that still makes me swoon.

A Downtown Denver Proposal Full of Surprises

Let’s rewind to Acacia’s 23rd birthday — or what she thought was just a fun night out with their besties. They were headed to her favorite restaurant downtown when, mid-stroll across a glowing bridge at sunset (hello, movie scene), Brenden dropped to one knee. 😭

Acacia’s face said it all — total shock, total joy, and the easiest “YES” of her life. Their best friends captured every moment (amazing job, guys 👏), and just when Acacia thought it couldn’t get better, all of their other friends and family were waiting around the corner ready to celebrate. A proposal and a surprise party? Well played, Brenden. WELL. PLAYED.

From Concert Nights to Couch Nights — Their Love Is Effortless

What I love most about these two is how balanced and grounded they are. They’re the kind of couple who can dance in a crowd at a concert one night and be curled up with wine and Netflix the next.

Music has always been a big part of their relationship, and honestly, same. There’s just something about dancing with your person in a crowd full of strangers that feels so alive. They’ve been to so many concerts at this point, they’ve lost track — and I love that for them. (Side note: If you’re reading this and planning a concert-themed wedding, call me immediately. 😂)

But at the end of the day, Brenden and Acacia’s favorite place is with each other. At home. With Kevin. With a glass of wine. And honestly, I can’t imagine a more beautiful foundation for forever.
