Dawson & Laurel’s Beautifully Rain-Kissed Wedding at Lionsgate

Love was in the air – despite the clouds above! Dawson and Laurel’s wedding day at the stunning Lionsgate Event Center was nothing short of magical, and, as always, Madeline had things perfectly under control, making sure every detail was in place for this sweet couple’s big day.

While the sky tried to keep things a little gloomy, it didn’t stop this amazing celebration. The sun might have stayed hidden behind the clouds, but it didn’t dim the warmth and joy radiating from everyone involved.

Now…Let’s start with the florals – because WOW. Zach, Laurel’s brother-in-law, truly outdid himself with the flower arrangements. I mean, he should consider going into business! The pops of color, soft blooms, and the dreamy baby’s breath had me swooning all day long. The bridesmaid bouquets were simple and sweet, made entirely of baby’s breath, which allowed Laurel’s bouquet of soft blush and pink peonies to truly steal the show. Talk about a jaw-dropper!

Bridal Elegance:

As the ladies arrived with hair and makeup done, it was time for Laurel to get into her stunning gown. She chose an elegant A-line dress with beautiful, simple lines, featuring a thigh-high slit that was absolute perfection. Laurel looked like a vision of grace. And let’s not forget about Dawson, who was looking quite handsome in his tawny-colored suit paired with a soft floral-patterned tie. They truly are one of the cutest couples we’ve had the honor of working with!

One of the most heartwarming moments was Laurel’s daddy-daughter first look. Daddy Daughter first looks alway get me in the feels! and the soft sniffles from some of the Bridesmaids watching made me tear up as well. Watching Laurel share that precious moment with her dad was enough to make anyone’s heart melt.

The First Touch:

With the rain holding off, we got a window of opportunity to do a first touch at the arch, surrounded by gorgeous greenery. Fingers crossed, we got them set up, and Dawson was definitely instructed to keep his eyes shut! It was so beautiful to watch them both read the letters they had written to each other. The love and connection they shared in that moment were palpable, even though we couldn’t hear their words. It was the kind of love that felt as if it could withstand time and every storm that comes its way – and it’s a good thing, because right after they finished their letters, the rain started back up!

A Beautiful Ceremony:

The ceremony was nothing short of magical. As guests were seated, the wedding party made a stunning entrance, with the groomsmen in the same color as Dawson, wearing soft pastel ties, and the bridesmaids in a beautiful mix of pastel dresses and floral prints. Honestly, the colors were a dream.

And, oh my goodness, can we talk about the ring bearer? He definitely took the cake (but I won’t spoil the surprise – you’ll just have to see the pictures!). The flower girls did a perfect job of sprinkling petals down the aisle for Laurel as she made her way toward Dawson, escorted by her mom and dad. The moment Laurel appeared at the top of the aisle was pure magic. Dawson’s eyes lit up the moment he saw her – it was as though the whole world disappeared, and all that mattered was the woman walking toward him. His joy was infectious, and you could feel the love in the air.

Officiated by Tim, their ceremony was beautifully centered around their faith. It was touching, heartfelt, and meaningful. One of Laurel’s bridesmaids even blessed everyone with a beautiful song during the ceremony. It was a truly special moment. As they exchanged rings and vows, Tim announced them as husband and wife, and I couldn’t help but feel the joy they radiated at that very moment.

Reception Fun:

The reception was filled with love, laughter, and celebration. Dawson and Laurel spent time connecting with their guests, enjoying the time they had with everyone at Lionsgate. Between the toasts, cake cutting, and their incredible first dance, it was clear that everyone was having a fantastic time. And, of course, once the dance floor opened up, guests were on their feet, showing off their best moves!

The Grand Exit:

As the evening came to a close, Dawson and Laurel shared a private last dance – a perfect, intimate moment just for them. And then, in true “Colorado weather” fashion, they decided to make their grand exit through bubbles… in the rain! It was such a fitting end to a day filled with on-and-off rain showers. As they ran through the bubbles with their guests cheering them on, you couldn’t help but feel the magic of the day come full circle.

Dawson and Laurel, thank you for allowing us to be part of your incredible day. We feel so lucky to have captured these precious moments for you both, and we wish you nothing but a lifetime of love and happiness as you start this beautiful journey together. Your wedding was a testament to true love and faith, and we’re forever grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it!
