Oh my goodness, Aaron and Julie’s wedding at the ever-charming Dove House at Lionsgate was everything a Colorado wedding should be. The day greeted us with that perfect mix of blue skies, soft clouds, and a touch of Colorado unpredictability that always keeps things exciting.
From the moment we arrived, there was an energy buzzing in the air—part nerves, part excitement, and all love. Their wedding party instantly made us feel like part of the crew (seriously, we could have grabbed a bridesmaid dress or a groomsman boutonniere and no one would have questioned it). The vibe was relaxed, joyful, and full of laughter—exactly how wedding mornings should be.
Once everyone was ready, we headed to the Dove House living room for Aaron and Julie’s first look. Julie looked absolutely radiant in her gown—a stunning flared silhouette with delicate appliques along the illusion neckline and my favorite detail of all: buttons cascading all the way down the back and train. Pure elegance.
Julie had a little surprise up her sleeve for Aaron. After their emotional first look (his smile said it all when he turned to see her!), she sat down at the grand piano. Julie had secretly been learning “Everything I Do, I Do It For You” just for this moment. Nerves and shaky hands aside, she played beautifully while Aaron sat beside her, eyes full of love. That moment? 100% theirs forever. Cue the tears, cue the goosebumps, cue the romance!
A Ceremony Filled with Love (and a Little Rain)
Colorado decided to do what it does best—switch it up. Clouds rolled in, but nothing was stopping these two from saying “I do.” Julie, escorted by her dad, walked toward Aaron while the crowd tried to pretend they weren’t crying (spoiler: they totally were).
Their ceremony was heartfelt, joyful, and sprinkled with laughter. A particularly touching moment was the reserved special seat with a flower and a photo of Aaron’s brother, who had passed away—his presence was felt by many who walked by and smiled.
As the vows were spoken and the rings exchanged, sprinkles of rain began to fall—like the sky itself was blessing them. And right as they walked back into the Dove House as officially married, the skies opened up. Perfect timing.
A Reception Full of Fun, Bubbles & Pizza
The rest of the night was pure celebration. Alaina worked her magic on the Dove House décor—elegant, warm, and completely romantic. Guests mingled, laughter filled the air, and the kids? They had their own dream setup. Coloring, snacks, and bubble wands (yes, I almost snagged one myself—who can resist bubbles?).
DJ Cameron kept the dance floor packed all night with the perfect mix of songs for everyone. First dances led into desserts, and just when everyone thought it couldn’t get better—out came piles of pizza as a late-night snack. Let me tell you, nothing keeps a dance floor going like slices of cheesy goodness. With sugar and pizza fueling everyone, the party did. not. stop.
