Winter Wellshire Event Center Wedding
Glenwood Colorado
What. A. Day.
Christopher and I arrived at the Wellshire Event Center in Denver, Colorado, and immediately remembered why this venue is such a favorite of ours. It’s full of personality, timeless charm, and cozy elegance in all the best ways.
After weeks of 60+ degree weather, Colorado decided to remind us who’s boss and delivered the coldest weekend of 2026 so far. 🥶 But honestly? The cold didn’t stand a chance against the warmth, joy, and love that surrounded Austin and Amy all day long.
While Austin and Amy were finishing getting ready, we had to pivot a bit since our original photo plan was officially foiled by the freezing temps. So Christopher and I did what we do best — wandered the Wellshire, explored every corner, and found the perfect spots for two very important moments: Amy’s first look with her dad, Dr. Wagenaar 😉 and Amy and Austin’s first look together.
Spoiler alert: the venue absolutely delivered.
Once everyone was dressed and ready, we set up for Amy’s first look with her dad — and wow. The moment he turned around, his eyes sparkled, his face lit up, and you could practically see his heart grow three sizes. Amy had the biggest smile on her face, soaking in every second of that moment with her dad.
Pure magic.
Next up: the moment Austin & Amy had been waiting for. Their First Look!
As he faced away, Amy slowly walked down the hallway toward him, absolutely glowing. When she was ready, she called his name… and when he turned around, the rest of the world disappeared. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. And Amy? The happiest bride there ever was.
Before we jumped into portraits, they shared something incredibly special — private vows, just the two of them. Christopher and I stayed back and quietly captured a few images for their memory books, but they truly wanted that moment to be theirs alone.
I love when couples do this. Something sacred, intimate, and just for them — a moment they’ll always share from their wedding day that belongs to no one else.
After portraits and family formals, everyone had a little time to breathe before the ceremony. And oh my goodness… the ceremony space was stunning.
As guests found their seats, it was time for the most important part of the day — making this marriage official.
Austin’s grandpa, Mike, officiated the ceremony, which made everything even more meaningful. One of the most beautiful parts of Austin and Amy’s wedding was how deeply their family was woven into every part of the day — from officiating, to speaking during the ceremony, to standing beside them as their wedding party.
The unity. The love. The support. It was palpable.
When it was time for Amy’s entrance, she walked in on her dad’s arm, eyes locked on Austin the entire way down the aisle. And fun fact — Grandpa Mike actually had to gently hold Austin back for a second because he was so ready to grab Amy’s hand before the “who gives this woman…” part even happened. It was one of those quiet, blink-and-you-miss-it moments that somehow says everything.
The ceremony was full of love, heartfelt words, and some truly great laughs.
Amy’s brother, Casey, introduced the unity candle and shared what it symbolized before they lit it together. He also explained the Jewish tradition of breaking the glass — a moment that represents how fragile relationships can be, the importance of protecting love, and the idea that even in great joy, we remember what truly matters and hold it with care.
Then came their first kiss as husband and wife… followed by Austin joyfully breaking the glass and everyone cheering:
Mazel Tov!!! 🥂
After the ceremony, Austin and Amy headed into the hallway to greet and thank each of their guests as everyone made their way to cocktail hour — one of my favorite parts of any wedding day.
The rest of the evening was an absolute blast. From their first dance, to family toasts that had the whole room laughing, to cake cutting and finally hitting the dance floor — it was such a fun, joyful celebration.
Christopher was deeply sad to hear we’d be missing the later EDM dance party (his heart will recover eventually 😂), but we couldn’t have been happier to spend the day celebrating with Austin and Amy and their incredible families.
And to top it all off… Amy said the kindest, most heartfelt thing to me at the end of the night — the kind that stays with you forever and maybe makes you cry a little behind your camera. Happy tears, obviously.
We are beyond grateful that you trusted us to capture your wedding day exactly the way you dreamed it. Thank you for letting us be part of something so meaningful, for welcoming us so warmly, and for sharing your families and your love with us.
It was truly a wonderful, joyful day from beginning to end.
We cannot wait to see where this new adventure takes you two. 🤍
