Mt Falcon East Engagement
When it comes to winter weather in Colorado, Steve, Marie, and I were super lucky for their engagement. Almost 70 degrees for the first weekend in March…OH YEA! It was so nice out that we had to change one of our locations because there were people everywhere and not a single parking spot. All in all, though, their Mt Falcon East engagement session was perfect!
Steve and Marie’s Epic First Date
It took about a year for Steve and Marie to really connect. They worked at the same place but didn’t talk to each other that much until Marie quit. Like many fantastic relationships, they became friends first.
Usually, when I hear about a couple’s first dates, it’s something typical like dinner and miniature golf or dinner and hanging out. Steve and Marie’s first date to me is an Epic One! On July 5th, 2017, Steve took Marie to the Hollywood Bowl and then to the LA Symphony to watch them play along to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. How awesome is that! I love Harry Potter, but to say your first date was to see the symphony play to it. AMAZING!
A Scenic Proposal
Everyone in Colorado knows Chautauqua park and the Flatirons in Boulder, and we all know how beautiful and majestic they are. On Thanksgiving 2020, Marie got to experience them in a whole new way. The Boulder Flatirons would be the backdrop to Steve’s plan. As they were hiking with their dogs at Chautauqua, at the start of the trail, in front of the gorgeous flatirons, Steve got down on one knee and asked Marie to marry him
Getting To Know Steve and Marie
One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is getting to know my couples, hearing their love story, finding out the things they love about each other, and what they like to do together. When the three of us talked for the first time, I think we were only 2 minutes into our conversation when one of us made a reference about The Office. We love the Office, and I knew then I would love working with Marie and Steve. Plus, they have the cutest fur babies.
Steve and Marie have this genuine easy-going, fun-loving personality. When Marie sent her Bridal Questionnaire, I enjoyed reading how they like to do things together—going to breweries, making dinner together, playing games, Hanging out with family and their dogs—even hosting game nights with their friends and entertaining. The more I get to know them in person, the more excited I am to photograph their wedding.
Mt Falcon Engagement
As I had mentioned earlier, we had gorgeous weather for Steve and Maries Engagement Session. Even though we didn’t get to head to Red Rocks, it was crazy busy; you could see it from Mt Falcon East. I was so excited to meet Steve and Marie and their fur babies. The best part, they all had matching sweaters. It was adorable, and the pups did so well. Photos with puppies can be like photos with toddlers; you have to let them do their thing 🙂
With Red Rocks in one direction, mountains in another, and Denver off in the distance, we had a fabulous time with engagement photos. Steve and Marie were absolute naturals at photos. Again we had so much fun, and I loved how easy going they are. Next up, their wedding day, I can’t wait!!!!
Engagement Sessions are such a fun opportunity for us to get to know our couples and to help them feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. It helps us educate you in some of the posing and sayings that we will use on your wedding day. If you are ready to create your dream wedding photography package, we would love to chat with you!
