A Breckenridge Engagement

This is one of those love stories that you think…WOW, What a small world. I am lucky enough to be Justin’s Aunt, so I have the pleasure to have watched him grow up his whole life. He was my quiet little nephew who made friends easily and liked everyone. Brittany was a spunky and rambunctious 4 year old in my PreK class, that you just couldn’t help but love. Justin and Brittany first met when they were both four and enrolled in my Pre K classroom. Yep, you read that correctly four years old.

However, it was not like those cute moments when little ones say to one another, “hey would marry me” one moment then “you’re not invited to my birthday party” the next. Justin and Brittany were more like the “you’re not invited to my birthday party” kind of friends. Brittany would tease Justin and Justin would ignore Brittany. It’s so funny to think about it, because if they only knew then what they know now! When Kindergarten started they both attended different schools and that was that…so they thought.

They Meet Again

Justin and Brittany’s paths crossed once again when they were in Middle School. This time to become good friends. The two fo them stayed that way throughout High School. It still wasn’t in the stars for them to date during High School either, but at least they were a lot nicer to each other! After High School once again they took separate paths, Justins lead him into the Military and Brittany on to College and working with children. In 2017 Justin got his second deployment and was headed to South Korea. While there Brittany and Justin found themselves starting to reconnect online. They found their friendship once again and after 9 months of serving in Korea Justin came back home to Colorado. Justin and Brittany had created a strong friendship that was quickly growing into something much more.

Once they began officially dating things moved quickly for them. They knew in their hearts that they wanted to be together and spend their lives with one another. We all loved Brittany and it was exciting to see this new journey unfolding in front of all of us.

The Big Moment

I remember the day Justin told Christopher and I, he was going to propose, we were so excited for him. The big day had come and, Brittany knew something was up, she had a feeling he would soon pop the question. On February 25th, 2018, Brittany’s Birthday,  Justin was ready! He had the ring, and the day all planned out! It started with a trip to Penny Arcade in Manitou Springs CO. A cute old arcade where he won some rubber duckies for Brittany ( she loves rubber ducks ). After they left the arcade they went to Helen Falls for a hike, cause honestly if you’re in Colorado that’s just what you do, you go for a hike! 🙂 Close to sunset and with a small waterfall next to them, on Bridge number 4, Justin stopped Brittany, got down on one knee and asked her if she would be part of his world. With a resounding Yes, Brittany accepted his proposal.

Here they are now planning their wedding with Disney Flair! I am so excited to be a part of this journey with them as their Aunt and their photographer! I love these two so much and am so proud of all the accomplishments they both have made over the years! I hope they have the best life they can possibly have together!
