When Rob took the first bite of the tortellini soup Crystal had made, I don’t think either one of them had any idea of the fantastic and beautiful adventure that was about to begin.

Soup is what brought these two fantastic people together. Trust me on this, Crystal’s tortellini soup is delicious. Even my husband Christopher begs her to make it for him 🙂 But I don’t think Crystal expected it to bring her close to the man she would soon call her husband!

Crystal and Rob were both at a church ” Break the Fast” dinner activity. Of course, Crystal brought her “famous” Tortellini Soup. These two soon to be love birds path had yet to cross until one moment in the kitchen. With a bowl in hand and a mouth full of soup, Rob was asking who made it. Crystal, of course, replied with, “I did,” if you could taste the soup, you would be asking who made it too! 🙂 With a muffled mouth full of soup, Rob commented back, “It’s GOOOOOD.” After rejoining the group, and playing some piano with Crystal’s youngest son Asher, they each left and went their everyday ways.

Soon after that dinner, Rob reached out on Facebook to invite Crystal over to his house for a dinner party. While there, Crystal and Rob struck up a conversation about her oldest son Brandton, who is a fantastic artist. They were discussing Brandtons art and his love and dream to work for Nickelodeon. Right away, Rob made a phone call and handed the phone to Crystal. It was Rob’s sister on the other line, and guess what…She knows people at Nickelodeon! After talking to Barb, Rob’s sister, for almost an hour, Rob commented that maybe they could take a trip with Brandton to LA. Nine months later, they did!

Before LA and following the dinner party, Rob and Crystal made their way with a group of friends to a Singles Barn Dance. That night Crystal knew she liked Rob. He was a complete gentleman and very funny as they danced through the night.

Asking Like A True Gentleman!

It was the second Facebook message that fully caught Crystal’s attention. Because like a true gentleman, he wanted her phone number so he could call her and ask her out on a date. On September 29th, 2018, Rob and Crystals went on their first official date. Like all great love stories, they decided on miniature golf at Putt-Putt Golf in Westminster Colorado and then dinner at Gordon Biersch. Their second date would follow the very next day as her kids were at their homecoming dance. Crystal and Rob headed to dinner and a movie, then the day after that to a Singles Church Fireside…from that moment on, they have been by each other’s side.

Through the next two years, Rob and Crystal built a beautiful relationship of love, caring, service to each other, and others. They made sure to have date nights, family trips, and tons of time together.

The Proposal

On their official two year anniversary, at the Denver LDS Temple with all of the kids present, Rob got down on one knee. With his mother’s ring in hand, he proposed, and Crystal said YES!

I love that Rob included Crystals the kids for the proposal. It truly says something about his character and love for not only Crystal but for them as well.

I am so excited to be able to head over to Ogden Utah in January 2020 for their Temple Sealing. And over the moon to be apart of their big day and to be able to photograph and capture the memories and moments for them. Congratulations Rob and Crystal!
