Crystal Rose Colorado Summer Wedding

Lookout Mountain, Golden Colorado

When I first met Alyssa at Applebees for drinks and then Jeremy at their engagement session in Golden, I immediately fell in love with them! Between their sincere kindness and playful personalities, they are downright wonderful to spend time with. One of the most incredible things about Jeremy and Alyssa is their effortless love for their friends, family, and, most significantly, each other. Their love story is one of my favorites because of how unique and thought out it is. If you haven’t seen their engagement blog, you have to read it right now! It’s so special!

A Magical Day

The morning was downright filled with joy and laughter as the Bridesmaids and Bride were having their hair and makeup down at the wedding venue. Meanwhile, the Groom would be heading over later to get ready with his groomsmen.

That afternoon Christopher and I arrived at the Crystal Rose, by the way, such a fabulous venue! This was our first time photographing a wedding there, and I hope we get to go back. As we set our stuff down, we were greeted with the biggest welcoming hugs from Alyssa. It set the tone for our whole day 🙂 Even the rain couldn’t take our joy and smiles away!

While Alyssa was getting the finishing touches on her hair and makeup, Jeremy and his groomsmen arrived at the venue. Christopher and the guys made sure that Jeremy was kept on the opposite side of the venue, so an accidental “first look” didn’t happen 🙂

Alyssa’s wedding gown was just as unique as their love story. The underlayer almost reminded me of a crystal accented with flower appliques. Then the top layer was soft tulle, rhinestones, and more flower appliques. When she stepped into this amazing dress, she was glowing!!! The dress was gorgeous, but Alyssa made it breathtaking!

Once Alyssa was dressed, we set out into the backyard of the Crystal Rose for her first looks with her dad and step-dad and some much-needed photos of her with her ladies! We had to make it quick, though, as the rain clouds were making their afternoon appearance.

Time to Get Married

With the rain refreshing the day, it was time to get Jeremy and Alyssa married!

When Alyssa stepped out of the venue and started walking down the aisle, she was positively enchanting! And no one, including Jeremy, could take their eyes off her. When Jeremy first laid his eyes on her, he looked awe-struck, and his eyes filled with tears.

Jeremy’s mom Wendy officiated the ceremony, and just like Jeremy and Alyssa, her words were heartfelt and magical. Let’s be honest; their whole ceremony was filled with magic! From the story of their Dungeon and Dragons proposal, a genuine crystal rose :), and their love-filled wedding vows. This is a ceremony we will never forget! 🙂

As the celebration began, we headed to Lookout Mountain with the wedding party. We told Alyssa and Jeremy it was a must-do spot for some fantastic mountain photos. When Alyssa and Jeremy got out of the car, the look on their faces seeing the view made my heart melt! I knew we had found the perfect spot!

One of the truest joys, though, is preserving how beautifully a couple is loved by their family and closest friends on their wedding day. One of my favorite moments during their reception was the toasts. Both Alyssa’s Maid of Honors spoke, and their toasts were filled with the intense love they have for Alyssa. Then both Jeremy’s brothers spoke, and it took everything I had to hold back my own tears. The connection between the three of them was so endearing and sincere. Moments like these are the ones I love to photograph!

While Jeremy and Alyssa celebrated the best day of their lives with the people they love most, Christopher and I couldn’t help but share in their joy and click away with our cameras!

Congratulations, Jeremy and Alyssa; words can’t express our love and gratitude for you and for letting us be a part of such an important day in your life. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you and hope we get to stay in touch!!!
