A Tapestry House Wedding |
Laporte Colorado
From the first time I talked to Mark and Rachel, I knew we were going to hit it off! When I met them in person for their Mni Engagement Session, I knew I was looking at new friends! Between Rachel and Marks’s outgoing and wildly funny personalities, they are downright amazing to spend time with! One of the most incredible things about them, though, is their love for their family, friends, and especially each other!
On the day of their wedding, Christopher and I were super excited to spend time with them and get to know their family. We adore Mark and Rachel and couldn’t wait to be apart of this big day.
The Tapestry House
We arrived at the Tapestry House in Laporte, Colorado, and I immediately was enchanted! This Venue is so unique and intimate. The painted lady historic mansion is a sight to see. The intricate details of the house make it come to life. From The large wrapped porch, the beautiful turret, patterned shingles, and gingerbread trim. Then you walk inside and wow, so much detail in every room. Each room has a personality of its own and lends to the beauty of the day. The wooden staircase there in the foyer and all the upstairs balconies were going to make for amazing photos. As we walked around the house and the grounds, I felt like I was in a fairy tale!
With the Bride and her bride tribe arriving, we were ready for some fun! Christopher took the Groom and Groomsmen upstairs, and the ladies stayed downstairs. Mark and Rachel began preparing for their first look; we were hoping the rain would hold off. It rained just before we headed outside for the first look, better than it starting during it.
Getting Ready and First Look
Rachel looked absolutely stunning in her lace overlay ballgown dress. And Mark was so handsome in his gray suit with purple accents down to matching purple socks with his groomsmen crew. Once they were dressed and ready, we headed out onto the lawn. We got Mark all set and prepared to see his Gorgeous Bride for the first time that day. As Rachels’s bride tribe helped her walk out to where Mark was waiting, you could feel the anticipation and excitement. When Rachel was ready, and with tears in her eyes, she called Mark’s name, and he turned around. Be still my heart! Mark’s first reaction to Rachel was a big-eyed “WOW”! After a little bit of time together, it was time to get these two to the Ceremony.
Time to Say I Do
Mark took his place at the ceremony site, eagerly waiting for Rachel to walk down the aisle to him. Once again, when the double doors to the Mansion opened, and Rachel stepped out on the porch, escorted by her loving father, Mark’s expression lit up with such love.
Mark and Rachel’s Ceremony was marvelous! Even with the fumble of their Unity Braid. This was the first wedding I have ever seen perform a Unity Braid or God’s Knot. It is a beautiful symbol of coming together not just as Husband and Wife but with the Lord as an equal part. “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12) Three different colored cords are representing God, the Groom, and the Bride. As Mark and Rachel completed their Braid, I had tears in my eyes. Their family and friends surrounding them with love and support Mark and Rachel said I DO!
Every part of their reception reflected them! I loved the setup of comic books and grooms cake to the fun-loving, bright colors they chose for their wedding colors. It was a night to remember. Mark and Rachel danced their way into their reception as Husband and Wife! Then once again, they took to the dance floor later that even for their first dance. Light on their feet, Mark spun Rachel around the dance floor with such elegance, grace, and joy.
Family, Friends and Night of Love
One of the most memorable moments came before their first dance and cake cutting when Rachel’s dad took to the microphone and professed his love and adoration for his daughter and how proud he was to have Mark as part of his family. I stood there taking photos as my tears flowed! It was such a meaningful and heartfelt moment. You could feel the love overflowing between Mark, Rachel, and Her mom and Dad.
The night continued with laughter, dancing, and family and friends gathered together! It was an incredible wedding day through and through. As Mark and Rachel celebrated their happiest day with the people they love, we couldn’t help but share in their joy as we clicked away with our cameras. Congratulations, Mark and Rachel, on this next adventure in your life. We absolutely can’t wait to hang out with you guys soon!
