Sprague Lake Elopement in Rocky Mountain National Park
From the moment I met Wendy and Bryan, I absolutely adored them! Their whole family was so welcoming when I got to the Airbnb in Estes Park Colorado. Even though we got a little behind schedule, everyone stayed calm, and we just went with the flow. The best part, nothing hindered the upcoming moment of standing together in front of their family and the gorgeous view at Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park where Bryan and Wendy would say I DO!
Bryan and Wendy’s Love Story
Bryan and Wendy have such a sweet love story, teenage and high school sweethearts. They met online and chatted for two years before making plans to meet in person. Once they met, that was it; they were inseparable, and even though they lived 30 minutes apart, which is a long way when you’re a teenager. They made the point to spend every weekend together and even go to Prom together. One of the most commendable things about their story is that Bryan waited for eight years to ask Wendy to marry him. Some people would probably ask, why wait so long? For me, this part of their story truly makes it a love story…Bryan wanted to be done with school and make sure that they were both ready! How amazing and thoughtful is that.
After eight years, I bet you are wondering how he proposed? Well, they were visiting our beautiful state of Colorado, Deer Park at Rocky Mountain National Forrest, to be exact. While taking a picture, Bryan kneeled with the gorgeous mountain view and asked Wendy to marry him. This brings us to today. (She said yes, by the way! )
A Magical First Look
Wendy looked positively radiant in her ballgown wedding dress, with soft floral-covered tulle overlays. And her veil…I was so excited that she had a long, two-tier veil because I couldn’t wait to play with it in photos. When Bryan and Wendy were ready, we headed to their first look location. I found this cute small grove of Aspen trees just up the road from their Airbnb, and while their family watched from the cars, Bryan got to see his Bride for the first time in her dress, ready to become his wife. It was such a touching first look. Because from the moment Bryan turned around and laid eyes on Wendy, they both had tears in their eyes. While they were crying, I started crying. I tell you they have a piece of my heart 🙂
I don’t think Bryan and Wendy’s day could have been any more beautiful! We had the gorgeous Colorado blue sky, Sprague lake was twinkling, and the mountains looked so majestic. Their ceremony was so meaningful, but my favorite part was that it is was in English and Spanish! Even though I know maybe five words in Spanish, you could feel the love and joy through the words. I think it’s time I learn Spanish 🙂 Like the big baby I am, when they read their vows and started crying, I was crying right along with them and their families. The most beautiful part of the ceremony, though, was when they said “I Do,” and Bryan was able to kiss his stunning wife.
I am so grateful and blessed that I could be a part of Bryan and Wendy’s day and spend time with them and their loving family in such a gorgeous place. Bryan and Wendy, CONGRATULATIONS!! Thank you for making me feel so welcomed and loved. You both are phenomenal, and I adore you!!!
