Ryan & Theresa

Weddings

St. Thomas More Catholic Church & Ken Caryl Vista Summer Wedding

Every wedding day is uniquely beautiful, but as a wedding photographer, there are just some celebrations that stick out in my memory in a unique way! Sometimes it’s because of the breathtaking venue, and other times it’s because of the couple’s fantastic vendors. But my all-time favorites are when couples create their day with a personality-packed celebration. Just like their engagement session, Ryan and Theresa’s wedding day was nothing short of filled with their personalities and love for their family and friends.

The Best Wedding Party

Where to begin! From the moment we arrived at the different houses where Ryan and Theresa were getting ready, Christopher and I both walked into meeting incredible people. Theresa’s bridesmaids were so welcoming, friendly, and willing to help with anything. At the same time, Ryan’s groomsmen had great personalities, and Christopher talked about how much fun he had with them!

After spending the morning getting ready with her best friends, it was time to get Theresa in her dress for Ryan and her first look.
But first… the first look with her Bride Squad! Theresa was picture perfect in her Maggie Sottero ballgown wedding dress. She stepped onto the back porch, ready for her best gal pals to see her in all her glory. As they turned around, each one had an expression of excitement and love for Theresa.

Christopher got to spend the morning hanging out with Ryan and his Groomsmen. From playing foosball to creating some very hilarious arm-waving photos, just wait until you see them below. It was a great time capturing all of them celebrating their best friend, Ryan.

Ryan & Theresa’s First Look

As we pulled into the Church, Theresa had to do her best to duck down in Bri’s car so that Ryan didn’t see her. As their videographer Bri Poehler and I got them set for the First look, you could see the anticipation and love they share for each other. When Ryan turned around to see his radiant Bride, you could see how much he adores her. It was also evident in the letters they wrote each other, expressing their gratitude and love. I love these moments when couples take the time to tell each other how much they appreciate one another.

Time to Say “I DO”

NOW let’s get these two Married!!! St. Thomas More Catholic Church made for a beautiful setting for their Ceremony, and Deacon Dave’s blessings upon their marriage were so thoughtful and loving. I especially loved the moment they presented Flowers to Mary and had that time to be together. The moment had come for Deacon Dave to announce them, Husband and Wife! With their family and friends there to support and love them, Ryan kissed his now Wife!

Let’s Party

The party is just beginning! Onto the Party Bus! We had the best time creating memories with the wedding party at Hudson Gardens. Ryan and Theresa’s friends are just fantastic and so happy and full of life. Being around them all made our day with Ryan and Theresa that much better. As we finished up photos, they all headed back to the PARTY BUS, and you could hear them chanting SHOT SHOT SHOT SHOT!!!! 🙂

One of the truest joys of being a wedding photographer is capturing and preserving how beautifully a couple is loved by their family and closest friends on their wedding day. One of my favorite things is when couples incorporate their culture and heritage into their day. After Ryan and Theresa’s Grand Entrance, first dance, and cake cutting, Theresa changed into a gorgeous red lace traditional Vietnamese gown, ào dái. So imagine her going from this beautiful white ballgown to a stunning red ào dái… that red looked phenomenal on her! The traditions didn’t stop at the dress, oh no. As their guests enjoyed the delicious dinner prepared by Ken Caryl Vista, Ryan and Theresa visited each table, the Vietnamese tradition chào ban. Greeting each table is something most couples do, BUT the chào ban was a lot more fun! Ryan and Theresa didn’t just greet each table; at each table, their family and friends got to choose to congratulate the couple and or play a game with them. From guessing games to shot towers, everyone had such a great time. These are the moments I love to photograph! I will never forget how much fun the chào ban is!

The party continued as DJ Maestro got the party moving on the dance floor. They had it all: giant foam glow sticks, sunglasses, and party music! The dance floor didn’t stop all night long.

As the night was coming to an end, Ryan and Theresa took to the floor one last time for a private dance as Husband and Wife. Their friends and family quickly made their way outside to celebrate one final time as Ryan and Theresa made their way through the Glow stick tunnel!

As Ryan and Theresa celebrated the best day of their lives with the people, they loved most. Christopher and I were so excited to share in their joyous celebration and click away with our cameras to capture every smile, laugh, and kiss.
Congratulations, Ryan and Theresa, on this new adventure! Christopher and I are so happy and grateful for you! We loved spending the entire day celebrating with you! You both are amazing people, and we just adore you!
